Entered Flynn into the pre training class at Papatoetoe's 2 day event. Figured this was guaranted a good XC round, so we'd both be rocking by the next weekend, which was the Hunua Horse Trial.
Went & did our dressage & with it being all nice & sorted, we finished on 2nd. Went over the SJing & went clear, so packed up & went home for the night. Went out the next morning to collect my clever wee pony, only to find that he'd gone & had a play fight with Royal over the fence & had stuck his front legs in it!! Blood everywhere, lots of skin missing, some deep cuts & very swollen tree trunk legs. Not good! Had to get vet out & he'd narrowly missed the tendon, so was very, very lucky! Went & scratched from the 2day while I was waiting for the vet to come out. Ended up having to scratch from both Hunua Horse Trial & Bay of Plenty (again!) Not having much luck with trying to get to Rotorua as scratched from their HT in November as well due to the abscess.
